SUMMARY:2024 Safety Awards Breakfast (05.22.24)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for the Annual AGC of Utah Safety Awards Breakfast as we show appreciation for the hard work done by construction companies in our state to keep people safe. We will be celebrating companies for their safety records and safety practices.\n\n\n\nKeynote Speaker: David G. Lynn "Why Did I Do That? 10 Reasons We Take Chances: Risk Perception & Tolerance"\n\n \n\nDoes everyone perceive and tolerate risk at the same level? The dynamics of how we make decisions is complex and our ability to perceive danger is one of the first steps to prevent injuries. What is the right level of risk perception and better yet\, how do you teach people to recognize hazards. If risk perception is the first step to preventing injuries\, developing the appropriate level of risk tolerance can guide you to make the right decisions. This presentation opens a dialog for how to improve safety performance by understanding why people take chances. The presentation also offers tools and techniques to influence safe decisions.\n\n \n\nDavid G. Lynn is a seasoned safety professional with over 30 years of experience in the field. He has worked in various roles\, including at OSHA\, Duracell\, Owens Corning\, Fluor\, and as the Corporate Safety Director. Currently\, he is the Owner and Founder of Peak Safety Performance\, LLC\, a full-service safety consulting company that helps clients develop safety leaders\, evaluate safety performance\, and lead safety improvement processes.
