He has also been an OSHA Construction Outreach Trainer for several years and is currently employed as a shoring consultant and instructor. OSHA requires a Competent Person (CP) to oversee all trenching\, excavation\, and confined space jobsites. The CP must have specific training in and be knowledgeable about the requirements of OSHA Subpart P Standard. Confined space entry procedures can be very problematic for employers due to a lack of employee training in recognizing a confined space\, awareness of associated hazards\, and safe entry procedures. We will also discuss OSHA Subpart AA which is a standard for Confined Space in construction that became effective in 2015.
