This course introduces the requirements and best practices for working safely in and around confined spaces on construction sites. Topics include how to identify confined spaces and permit-required confined spaces, hazards commonly found in these environments, and the roles and responsibilities of entrants, attendants, and supervisors.
Participants will review requirements for atmospheric testing, ventilation, communication, rescue planning, and coordination between controlling, host, and entry employers. The goal is to help workers and supervisors recognize confined space hazards early and put effective controls in place before entry.
