The purpose of this training is to teach the core requirements of the Utah Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (UPDES). The focus of the training will cover the Utah Construction General Permit (CGP) and Low Impact Development (LID) requirements for construction operators. In the first unit, the presentation will cover the practical application of stormwater controls, industry best management practices, and the underlying principles of sediment and erosion control, and pollution prevention practices. The second unit will cover the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP), self-inspections and documentation, and the role these requirements play in managing your construction site. The final unit covers LID requirements, with a focus on what these requirements are, what role they play in development, and how they fit in with an active construction project and stormwater management. After this presentation, operators will be able to approach permit compliance, stormwater management, and post-construction LID requirements on their own sites.
