OSHA 2045: Machinery & Machine Guarding Standards (December 2024)

This course covers the various types of common machinery, machine safe guards, and related OSHA regulations and procedures. Guidance is provided on the hazards associated with various types of machinery and the determination of proper machine safe guards. Course topics include machinery processes, mechanical motions, points of operation, control of hazardous energy sources (lockout/tagout), common OSHA machine guarding violations, and guarding of portable powered tools, conveyors, and robotics. Program highlights include the ability to recognize hazards and provide options for control and hazard abatement through machine safeguarding inspection workshops. Upon course completion students will have the ability to describe common machine hazards and sources of energy, identify resources for assisting with machine guarding issues, and determine methods of control and hazard abatement, and selection of appropriate machine safe guard

Special Notes: This is an online/ Virtual Instructor Led Training (VILT) Classes. Per OSHA’s guidelines for VILT courses, students are required to have video capabilities and must be visible at all times to the instructor and facilitator during the class. Unfortunately, if a student cannot comply with this requirement, they will not be able to attend the class. Students are required to attend all days and times in order to receive a course completion certificate and/or trainer card. Students must use a desktop or laptop to participate. Tablets or phones are not allowed.
IMPORTANT: This online class is available to anyone who lives or works in OSHA Region 8 (Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, Utah, and Colorado). Additionally, if you are a current Outreach Trainer with CEF Colorado, regardless of your residence, you are still eligible to attend a Trainer Update Course
